Question by Beer Farts: If the Titanic had the technology we have today, would the outcome be different?
Would the outcome be different if they had smart phones, laptops, cell phones, etc back then? Would more people have lived? Think about it….they had no airplanes or navy rescue choppers back then.

Yes we have way better evacuation plans people are smarter and i’m sure they have better captains and yes they would have better search and rescue and more ships and we have radio contact now and cell phones and satilite phones and better made rescue boats
The reason the Titanic sank to begin with, was because the metal the ship was made from became brittle in the super cold water. Iron workers were not familiar with metallurgy back then so making alloys that resisted breakage was not well known.
Today our ships are made of these alloys, and they can go anywhere. Consider the ice breakers with thick or reinforced hulls that ride up on, and break the ice.
The technology would have helped, but so would having had enough life boats.
After the Titanic sank, there was a Board of Enquire. It made many recommendations based upon the findings. Those have meant that another Titanic disaster would never happen.
If they had smart phone, laptops cellphones etc they would have had airplanes or rescue choppers as well. Both were invented long before smart phones and laptops.
If you want a ‘what if’ try to be somewhat consistent.
