Question by Default: What are the applications and uses for Java?
In my next computer science class I will be learning Java, but I want to spend some time over the summer familiarizing myself with it and perhaps making my own applications.
This is just a very simple question of what are the uses of Java and the kinds of things I could create with its programming?

Best answer:

Java allows you to play online games, chat with people around the world, calculate your mortgage interest, and view images in 3D, just to name a few. It’s also integral to the intranet applications and other e-business solutions that are the foundation of corporate computing.
