    Not Just Informative, Motivating As Well, April 18, 2012

    As a marketing consultant, I’m pretty up on social media and how to utilize the common platforms. I was looking for a book, though, that I could recommend to clients and others looking for a good overview on the common social media platforms I was recommending and how to use them. When I discovered Jennifer Abernethy’s book, after hearing her speak, I took a chance that this book could be the one. It was, but what I didn’t expect was that the book would not only be informative but motivational as well. I’ve devoured each chapter one at a time and then ran to the laptop to try out her suggestions. I was very pleased to learn new things and grow my social media usage. It’s also prompted me to dig deeper and find more and more ways to grow my business via social media. I raise my glass to Jennifer and the latest version of The Complete Idiots Guide to Social Media.

    “This is an excelent book for people that are new to social media marketing. The book is a very complete guide in order to do first steps, but it doesn’t go much deep about Marketing Strategy.

    I found this book to be the key to getting me up to speed in the Social Media world. Jennifer Abernethy covers everything from Facebook, to MySpace, Streaming Social Media, Internet radio, and even explains writing your own articles and e-zines. She not only reviews these platforms in an easy-to-read manner, but also gives you strategies to best approach them for your particular needs. This second edition builds on the first by adding updated statistics, new social media sites and explains the new Facebook Timeline and how to use it. I’ve also found it to be very beneficial to refer to book’s web page that covers even more information than is in the book. Overall, this book has allowed me to bring my business to the next level!
