Is it elm tree? I am researching on San Francisco urban environ. This question centered on Market Street between Van Ness Avenue and the Embarcadero, the waterfront.

Most are London plane [Platanus x acerifolia]) trees that line the sidewalks from Castro to Speer Street. Then Canary Island date palms (Phoenix Canariensis) down at the Embarcadero.

3rd Species? I’ll have to see what stray species are planted next time I do the route, the two above are the ones in the city planting plans.
