Question by John A: What can replace Yahoo calendar now that it no longer can send text alerts?
I have relied on Yahoo Calendar to send me a text message when I had an appointment coming up for YEARS. It was really great when you are going from place to place, or in a meeting, or away from the computer. I sign-on today, and they have removed that functionality. Why, I have no idea, it really made them the best online calendar going.
I am looking for a simple, personal, web based calendar, that will send me alerts via text. Any suggestions. Of course, free is best, but inexpensive is acceptable.

You can try TimeClickr ( http://www.timeclickr.com ) – I am using them for my international texting but they also have good scheduler – tried few times, works correctly across multiple timezones. They are not free (and so do not sell your numbers to marketing companies), but got out to be the cheapest at a time I did a research, and it is pure pay-as-you-go service – no plans or contracts, just buy a bunch of credits and use as long as you need, packages start with $ 1. They give few free trial credits, you can check if it works for you.
