Question by MIRIAMDOVE: Which area of phoenix az would you recommend moving too?
My husband and I are thinking about moving to phoenix and I don’t know which area would be the best area to find an apartment to rent. He is a firemen/emt and we would not buy a house to start off with. Have any suggestions on the area?

I would stay in the north or north east part of town. Try looking around north Scottsdale or just west into Phoenix. These are quiet neighborhoods with a descent price range on apartments. Stay away from Mesa, South Phoenix, West Phoenix, and Central Phoenix.

You could also try Glendale or Peoria. My suggestion is to stay north. Good Luck!

Just avoid South and West Phoenix…….not to be confused with the far West like Avondale, Good Year and Surprise.

I’ve lived in Peoria (North West Valley) for a few years now, and I love it. It’s quite, clean and safe! There’s just enough entertainment and people here to where you don’t get all the congestions like in the East Valley. The East Side is nice, but there’s just too many drunk college kids and people there. Living in Peoria, you can hop on the 101 freeway and head in any direction.

Gilbert & Mesa, are your best bets.

I guess that depends on what you want out of where you live.
    Scottsdale is nice, but exp.
West valley is still being developed, so there is a lot of new stuff- but the traffic there is hell.
Mesa/East Valley is older, but has some nicer areas that are affordable. But once again, only one freeway in, so a lot of traffic.
Awatukee is my favorite, but it’s exp. there. I happen to prefer it, despite the prices because it’s close to a lot.
Parts of Chandler and Gilbert are good, but if you work in the heart of Phoenix, you’ll have a long drive.
    South Phx is slummy.
Central Phx isn’t too bad, it’s a little hit and miss.

If it were me, I’d look outside of Phx into one of the suburbs.

west side . … I moved from san diego……….. it is a renters market here you should have no problems finding a place if you want “less” crime try and move some where west of 127th ave .like Lichfield park or Surprise.;………….I did say “less”…………..anything east of the 101 freeway , on the west side, is a hot bed for crime
